Hiriart's standard catalog set 1156 FRENCH CHASSEURS Alpins has the figures wearing the large blue alpins beret, blue tunics, and white pants. This is a special variation of that set which I have ordered this year for four other collectors (Bob, Fred, John & Niels) and me. They are wearing Adrian helmets and black pants. We expect to receive them in late June. I will also be receiving a different variation which will have them with berets, black pants, and skis.

I like these. This is a very accurate rendition of the Alpine uniform as of the March 23, 1916, 4th pattern regs. The jacket (probably the M1916 version) and the pants are of a color known as dark iron-grey, actually a very dark blue, in different shades. The unworn greatcoat would have been in Horizon Blue, similar to the helmet color. Hiriart captured the uniform very nicely. -- Al

Thank you Al, I know that this French military uniformology is right up your alley.
