This is a special band variation on catalog set 1307 Husares de Junin, Peru. I believe this is the first time that I have ever seen a Hiriart mounted band with a jingling johnnie. Very colorful and unusual.

A very nice figure (and band) indeed. And here is the Jingling Johnny figure in real life, Mike. "The Glorious Hussars of Junin", wear a dress uniform of red coat and blue breeches - worn it is said, at the Battle of Junin in 1824. This uniform is very similar to uniforms of the Argentinian "Reigiment of Mounted Grenadiers Du General San Martin" - who helped raise and train this Peruvian Regiment. jb

Thanks for the information and the photo JB. I knew about the Battle of Junin, but didn't know about the Argentine connection. I have posted elsewhere photos of Hiriart's San Martin Grenadiers as cavalry, on foot, and as bands.

Here is what Hiriart catalog set 1307 Husares de Junin, Peru looks like. Very colorful uniforms.
