This is Hiriart set 1247 ARTIGLERIA A CAVALLO "LE VOLOIRE" ITALIA, which I ordered last year with four escorts. The escorts are new. This is a 19th century Italian artillery regimental gun team. Interestingly, it is still in the modern day Italian Army's order of battle, but is now equipped with M109 Paladin 155mm self-propelled howitzers.

A very neat looking set Mike! ^&cool

Jeff :salute::

Thanks Jeff, I agree. It will go well with the three other circa 1890 Hiriart Italian mounted sets I have in my collection: Dragoons, Lancers, and Colonial Cavalry. The first two are wearing similar blue uniforms, but with different head gear, while the colonial cavalry is in khaki.

A winner!

Bosun Al

Thanks Al. It is really an unusual subject matter set which I would be surprised to find that anyone else has every made before. The plumes on their kepis are really unique, too. I wonder if they aren't horse hair?
