Hiriart also makes a nunber of staff officer sets, many of which have personality figures. Here are five:

1256 WORLD WAR I GERMAN STAFF OFFICERS with HINDENBERG & LUDENDORF

1270 WORLD WAR II DEUTSCHES KRIEGSMARINE STAFF OFFICERS with READER & DORNITZ

Very interesting sets Mike. I enjoy viewing them and the only set I have is the Frontline set of WWl personality figures.

I am a sadden by the loss of my friend who collected all his life. His wife died last fall and he died suddenly last month. I don't know what is happening to his collection. A distant relative is getting everything and a few toy soldier guys showed up and said they will take "care" of his collection. I hope it works out well. I took him to Chicago years ago to the shows and he went every year after. He collected Hiriat figures plus everything else. Mostly glossy. J

All wonderful looking indeed!

My favorite is 1052 WORLD WAR I FRENCH STAFF OFFICERS with FOCHE & JOFFRE I think {sm4}

I don't know who you are talking about nor who the "toy soldier guys" are who showed up to take care of his collection. Maybe his collection will show up on eBay or at auction.

Mike: I know who the guys are but won't put it on the forum. I am sure they will do right by his estate. J

Here is another World War II staff officer set: 1302 GERMAN SCHUTZSTAFFEL with HIMMLER.

Here is a non-catalog set of WORLD WAR II GERMAN LUFTWAFFE STAFF OFFICERS. I don't know who the personalities in the set are since I don't have it in my collection.

Since Hiriart is located in Uruguay, they have several Latin American staff sets, as one might expect. I am not aware of any other toy soldier manufacturer who makes such sets. Here is a non-catalog set of ESTADO MAYOR, CHILE. I believe that the three figures on the right, with the batons, represent the commanders of the army, navy, and air force.

Here is the non-catalog set ESTADO MAYOR, CHILE, but as a mounted version unlike the previous post. They have interesting and colorful uniforms, but, unfortunately, I don't know what units they represent.

This Hiriart mounted staff officers non-catalog set, ESTADO MAYOR ARGENTINO, represents them in uniforms from the Juan Peron era. Some of their uniforms are an interesting combination of German helmets and World War II U.S. Army uniforms.

Hiriart set 1052 WORLD WAR I FRENCH STAFF OFFICERS normally includes eight different figures, as in the first attached photo. However, Hiriart also made this set at one time, possibly as a special, with just five figures, as in the next four photos.

The eight man French staff set is outstanding. Obviously Joffre and Foch. Would like to see Petain represented in these sets but no one seems to remember him. Still, it is a beautiful set. -- Al

Thank you, I agree that it is a beautiful set with the two personality figures of Joffre and Foch (sans Petain).

This is a second version of the "short" five man World War I French staff officer set shown in post #12. I am not sure if the five figure sets were the original 1052 catalog sets early on and then changed to the eight figure sets or what.

Here are two photos of another World War I French staff officer set, but mounted this time. It is set 1092 ETAT-MAJOR a CHEVAL, 1914.

Thanks Al. I realized that I had never posted a photo of that set before. Since there wasn't a stock photo available on the catalog CD, I used my, still boxed, set that I bought years ago from the late Frank Longstreth in Ohio.
