HIRIART The King's Royal Rifle Corps (1 Viewer)

Prior to this on another thread, I had posted a photo of Hiriart set 1192 THE KING'S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS which I saw on eBay. That set had the figures marching. Here is a photo of the correct catalog set which I just received today for my collection. I rather like it and I am glad I ordered it.

When Bob Walker saw my KRRC set on Saturday, he decided he wanted one, too. He ordered it as shown plus five extra men. A man with good tastes.

Although these two non-catalog sets are not the KRRC, they are a very similar: THE ROYAL IRISH RIFLES. I saw them on eBay. There are two versions; I prefer the winter uniform set and will put it on my wish list for purchase in the future.

I feel like I am just an outsider talking to the expert in this field, but didn't Hiriart make a lot of KRRC on parade, kind of like those IRs, marching, with buglers, officers, NCOs, mtd. officers, etc...? I saw them on eBay.....

Well Sandor, I am not sure if you can call me an expert, but thank you anyway. However, I believe I can answer your question. The KRRC figures you saw on eBay were probably those commissioned in the 1990s by Hector Albuquerque (aka patron3085 on eBay) formerly from Uruguay and now living in Central America. He must have thousands of Hiriart figures in his collection; he seems to be in the process of selling many of them. His 1990s commissions included British Regiments which are not in the Hiriart catalog including the Irish Rifles, among many others. The KRRC, which are not running at the trail, are non-catalog sets he probably commissioned.
