Thought it might be of interest to some of the forum, due to King & Country’s recent introduction of the Charge of the Australian Light Horse at Beersheba, Palestine, 1917, to share a couple of excellent web sites on the battle and the Light Horse. I’m sure to all the Australian members of the forum that this is “Old Slouch Hat” and already familiar territory. The URLs are; http://www.lighthorse.org.au/default.htm and http://www.diggerhistory.info/. Of particular interest on the first site is a photograph, that while controversial regarding authenticity, shows the actual charge; http://www.lighthorse.org.au/histbatt/photo.htm. And for you few movie buffs who may not know, there is a technically excellent (mixed artistic reviews) film entitled, The Lighthorsemen. Very authentic and great attention to detail. You can watch a segment of it (the charge) on You Tube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvjE3h0Ahz8.
