Thought I'd share some pics of the Hobby Boss 1/18 Scale FW-190A-8 kit I recently completed. The aircraft is in the markings of Hans Dortenmann's FW-190A-8, "Hascherl I/Rot Ein" which he flew while Staffelkapitän of 2./JG 54 in June 1944 in the Normandy region of France. This aircraft was shot down over Paris on June 26.
Overall, the kit is a simple build, but does have some inaccuracies like the blown canopy and a few other minor features. The antennas on the underside and step-ladder are custom parts as they did not come with the kit. The model has been painted entirely with the new Mission Models acrylic Luftwaffe shades, which are excellent! Weathering used a mixture of sludge washes and Tamiya weathering powders.
Enjoy the pics!
