Holiday Event with Hudson & Allen Studio, The History Store and W.Britain

On Saturday, December 13, 2008, The History Store is hosting a Holiday Event with W.Britains and Hudson & Allen Studio from 10am until 7pm. Located in scenic and historic Chillicothe, Ohio (east of Cincinnati and due south from Columbus, Ohio) The History Store is nestled among wonderful boutiques and small shops in the historic district of Ohio's first capital city. This event will include a preview of some 2009 W.Britains releases and some Hudson & Allen Scenic Dioramas. W.Britain Master Sculptor and Hudson & Allen Studio founder Ken Osen will be there to sign figures and just chat with fellow collectors. Ken will also be demonstrating some of the techniques used in building Hudson & Allen dioramas. There will be some special promotions and light refreshments as well.

For more information please contact:

Hope to see you there!
All the Best,

HUDSON & ALLEN STUDIO: When it absolutely, positively has to look real!

Well Ericka and I had a great time at The History Store event.
We spent the day chatting with collectors of all ages and in the afternoon we had a 'hands on' scenery clinic so folks could get some experience working with the materials we suggest first hand.
The day went fast and we wish there would have been more time to just visit with everyone. The owners and staff of the store were great hosts and provided a well lit and roomy gallery space, along with light refreshments and sandwiches.
The town is full of great early to mid nineteenth century architecture and well worth a visit just for that. We really hope to return for another event there in warmer weather!
I will have to see if Ericka took any pictures and if so, maybe she can post a couple.

Hello All,
I dug out the camera and only one of the photos I took turned out! What a wonderful day we had. It was a real joy to do a show in such a great setting! Take an 1880's building and make it into a gallery full of the works of Robert Griffing, Keith Rocco and John Paul Strain and I am a happy girl! Then add toy soldiers, re-enactors, happy collectors and a bunch of young kids just getting into the hobby and I can't stop grinning!

I would like to echo Ken's thanks to everyone who had a hand in the event at The History Store, from Ed Zunzelman and his gracious staff to the wonderful collectors that drove many a mile to attend (Families from Indianapolis and Fort Wayne drove down for it!). It was a pleasure making everyones acquaintance, I am looking forward to seeing all of you again, if not this coming summer than maybe at the OTSN show!
All the Best!
Ericka

Hi There!
Thank You for the compliment.
I do in fact paint the backdrops for the scenics. They are painted with acyrlics on hardboard and then sealed with a clear flat coat.
The one pictured is still in progress and it should be finished pretty soon. When it is, the winter diorama along with it's backdrop will be posted here on the forum so you can get a better look.
Up the road I may try and copy one of the more generic paintings so I can offer an economical one for general use, but for the moment I am up to my eyeballs with deadlines.
All the Best!
Ken
