Remember when K&C produced a set of People's republic of China's PLA troops on parade?

I always wish that K&C, being a local Hong Kong based toy soldier company, would produce more of the range on PLA.

Also, I was in the Beating Retreat parade on 30th June, 1997, just before the British handover to China. There was a ceremonial guard consisted of the Blackwatch in white summer dress, the RAF and the Royal Navy. The mass band was there as well. What a spectucular parade!

Just before dawn on the last day of British rule, a squad of Royal Hong Kong Police did a lowering the flag ceremony at the governor's mansion in front of Chris Patten, the last governor of Hong Kong. What a thrilling moment.

I've dreamed of K&C remaking the handover parade scene for 10 years...

Wow, you were in the Beating Retreat Parade! In what capacity? I have the PLA sets and the diorama backdrop, as well as some Black Watch in tropical white dress. If you ever come to the Symposium or otherwise happen by my place, I will redo my Streets of Hong Kong Diorama and set up a little reenactment of the parade for you.
