Re-reading another old but good book. "Horrido!" by R. Toliver and T. Constable is a 1968 Macmillan publication on the fighter aces of the Luftwaffe. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a ground breaking study of the aces that were largely unknown in the west prior to this work. As a kid, I had grown up on the stories of the Allied aces and their scores. Having only passing familiarity with such names as Galland, Moelders, and Priller (and not their scores), I was astounded by the numbers of both the kills claimed and the sheer number of aces, as well. Any Luftwaffe fan probably knows this book well, but it is a great read for any air war enthusiast or military enthusiast, for that matter. -- lancer
