I am planning attending the Gettysburg Toy Soldiers show. What hotel do the forum members recommend? I would like to be walking distance from the battlefield.

I think the show is at the Eisenhower Inn but that place is a real dump. Your best bet is probably the Gettysburg Hotel on Lincoln Square. That is right in the heart of the town and a decent hotel. The Wyndham is probably the nicest hotel in the area but it is a few miles outside the town. Worth it though if you want a clean, higher end place. There are also several B&Bs in town like the Farnsworth House.

I liked the Wyndham best, but you need a car. Thanks to Doug (combat). I also stayed at the Gettysburg Hotel, which was pretty good too. Hire a battlefield guide. Well worth it.

I am booked at the Eisenhower Hotel. I check in on Wednesday night. I look forward to meeting any Treefroggers who might be in town.

The last time I was in Gettysburg was about 12 years ago. I look forward to seeing the new museum and all of the changes to the battlefield.

I have rebooked my hotel. I am now staying at the Days Inn in Gettysburg. Arriving on Thursday and checking out on Monday morning.

I have stayed at the Days Inn - ok, edge of town and Gettysburg Hotel - older but nice, dead center of town.
When I was there I think there was breakfast at the Days Inn but if was a few years ago. Loud neighbors led a room change when i was there, staff was nice about it though!
