Dear Treefroggers, I haven't been checking in much in a while, putting some real life issues to rest but with Springs Arrival and June 18 coming fast I have been getting some WATERLOO toys out.

I rummaged thru all my assorted buildings to try and come up with a decent representation of at least part of Hougomont. Now in 54mm scale there is simply NO WAY { even if I had all the buildings and walls which I do not} that the Farm compound , gardens and woods could even begin to fit on my 6'x 12' table.

I'll take more shots as I play around with it. The Legere managed to get inside fairly fast as the North gate was NOT barricaded. It being about the only way for reinforcements and communication to the rest of the main army behind on the ridge. Many of the Guards holding this part of the farm fell back into the barns and buildings as the about 100 of 1st Legere led by LT. Legros pushed their way in. I'll try and do that imagery next.

Hoping to get some more parts of the battle done as we get closer to the 18th of June.

Heres some images of Naussers trying to hold the woods in front of Hougomont.

Again, I had to fudge somewhat to get even this much on the table.

Hi Fubar,

As usual, your displays are spellbinding. Thanks for posting the pictures. I really enjoy the scenes you create!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

WOW!

I am really impressed with the size of your collection! I think for you to put the entire day to gether you'd need a small warehouse to build it in. Still you could do like our friend the Lt does and build a bit take some photos and then build another bit etc.

Anyway the display is stunning!

All the best

Dave

Thanks guys.Yes, I am considering setting up as much of the battlefield as I can
in our polebarn next month. If not, then I'll keep plugging along doing portians of the battle on my wargame table. I might ask the Principal at the school next door for the keys to the gymnasium for a while too!At least I wouldnt have to take it all down right away like I would in the polebarn.Too many critters, cats, Racoons ect to leave it up overnite.northgate4.jpg

Heres the bayonet and musket butt fight in the yard. Will be adding some more assorted troops towards the end of the week and post some more shots.

Fubar, all I can say is WOW. Please keep posting, those are some great setups. Mike:)

Now I know why you've been so quite lately and it's nice seeing the results and it seems like your having fun doing it.........The Lt.

As always harold, GREAT STUFF!!! Glad to see you posting some dioramas again.
More britain waterloo figures should be released soon, can,t wait to see what comes next. Maybe some britains naussers???

Fub, you are da man. Brilliant stuff, top shelf displays as always.

Somewhere in Washington DC a lobbyist sits in front of his computer sobbing his eyes out seeing the French charge into the farmyard and all he can muster is the thought "WHAT IF"...................................

What a neat setting for a display- if you could pull off the barn. That would really REALLY immerse the observer into your collection- after all, I am sure you are going to include many, many barns in your displays.

Although I am not interested in the Napoleonics, I give your display two loud:

STANDS ALONE
STANDS ALONE

I can certainly appreciate fine work and craftsmanship.

Well, I wasnt going to LEAVE it in the barn just look at it for a couple daze!
I don't have an extra 50' of available space available in the house!

Naussers finally giving up the woods.

French assault the walls of Hougomont next.

Fubar: Nice to see you are setting up your Waterloo diorama. Outstanding display.Hope all the other stuff is settled. Thanks for pictures. John

Hi Leadmen! Well, I got into the steel building and dug out some figures I got a week or so ago so I had to reshoot the Northgate a little tonite.LT Legros is whacking away with his Pioneer AX and if you look real close you'll see PVT Clay grabbing the little frog drummer boy.northgate.jpg

So far, I've been just sort of rearanging stuf and using alot of the same figures.

I'll have to do La Hay Sainte , Grand Battry, 1 st corps attack,Brit cav charge, Squares getting pummeled, French cav insanity, Le garde recule. Plancenoit too but need more PRUSSIANS. Also for these diorama shots I need more casualties.

I guess I'll have to make some.
