All,

As the K&C boys started one of these I thought we could as well.

How many John Jenkins Sets and Figures do you have?

My count comes to 275 sets and 733 figures with 36 more sets on way or ordered.

I need help. :eek::eek:

Problem is already ordered all the new sets, only 28 sets for next month and what will March bring.

GOD HELP ME :eek::eek:

Wow, that is a massive number. Is that also including Frontline things? You must have a lot of multiples as well. I currently have a modest 7 sets totaling 18 figures, but will be picking up another 5-6 sets next week, and then plan to get all of the 1812 sets as they are released. I'll also continue to add sets from the FIW ranges and am undecided about the Blockhouse at this point.

MD,

That includes 15 sets of John's Old Frontline figures.

I have all of John's sets except WI-01, singles of the 750/1000 sets and a minimum of 4 or so of the 500 sets and as many of the retired or 250/350 sets I can get the bank manger to let me buy.

Smart man! Good for you, and obviously a great investment based on what I've seen lately.

Monty, are you bidding on any of those 250 sets on Ebay right now? Just curious.

MD,

The investment side is one thing but as with any collecting 1 set is never enough and even if you have 10 sets you find it very hard to let even one go. (How many is enough).

If I can resell some of the old/retired sets to cover my future purchases, that is the best I can hope for. If I make some money also collector heaven.

JJ figures are excellent (better than K&C for quality, that will get some comments) and the prices are the same as K&C $25 each approx. and limited editions to boot. You can not go wrong.

Well said. I like your philosophy, but...you just have to let me get 1 set of FM02, okay? ;)

MD,

I only have 8 sets of the FM-02 so that one looks to be safe at this stage.

But do not go near the FM-01 without deep pockets. :D

Got it, I have no chance of getting FM01, scratch that 1 off the list.

Gettysburg Antique Center sold me FM-01 a few weeks ago for $69.00, it's original price plus $10 shipping. Perhaps they have more. Combat told me about it. John has told me, however, that he plans to do more marines so don't give up. If you do not have the Capt. Beaujeu set which has a marine officer, you should get it. It is meant to go with FM-01. They still have them at Sierra Toy for $50. It's a really nice set.

Have it and love it. Toy Soldier Shoppe in Milwaukee has all of the new stuff covered...just can't get the sold out 250 sets easily now.

Collecting JJ since May 2007

16 sets
44 figures

Also only buy one of each set.

Will collect all of Battle on Snowshoes
Have selected sets from Battle of Monongahela and Siege of Quebec.
Not sure about what I'll buy from Raid on St. Francis or War of 1812 at the moment.
I'm focusing my collection now on FIW so that means Britains and Frontline are also part of the equation.

Also currently buying only one set of each.

How about those auctions - It got a little insane so I never bid. I did call Gettysburg Antique Center on Sunday and picked up FM-02-03-04 for 100$ less than the three sold for on eBay. I did'nt get the 69$ price, but the price was not too bad. GAC did not have FM-01.

Yes, I can't understand why folks pay more on ebay for sets that are still available from the dealers. The AC is a great store but I have to admit that they sometimes up the prices on items when they get wind that they are in demand (after sitting on the shelf for years). Not very sporting although I suppose it is a free market. I've taken my JJ business to George who always does a great job.

I've been collecting JJD since late October 2007.I have the following
Battle of Monongahela:
There are 28 sets total (incl.gun):
I have 20 sets,56 figures.
POA:
16 sets total:
I have 6 sets,15 figures.
Battle on Snowshoes:
10 sets:
I have all 10 sets,22 figures.
Raid on St.Francis:
3 sets (incl. Blockhouse):
I have 1 Blockhouse.
Retired:
11 sets total:
I have 1 set,4 figures

I have a total of:
37 sets,97 figures and 1 Blockhouse
I have 2 duplicate sets,5 figures
How have the rest of the Jenkins collectors been doing?
Mark
