Today I discovered in horror that my two AK motorcycles had the left hand break broken. Unfortunately I did not notice when it happened so I do not know what happened to the little pieces. Any advice on how to repair them? I also hava an EA soldier with a broken piece. I would appreciate any advise on how to "glue" the piece back.

Gil,

Unless you know what you're doing, I wouldn't recommend it. Instead, I would suggest using Susan Leicht, whose contact details are in the Services section. She does phenomenal repair and painting work; you won't be able to tell it's been fixed.

If you wish to try and fix it your self CA glue and an accelerator are your answer. Do you have a pin vice? Do you have a picture of the broken pieces? I can gice you a better idea on making your repairs.

I reread the post. You will need an appropriate piece of wire, a pin vice(possibly) and the glue. Cut the wire to the right length. A pair of needle nose pliers will allow you to bend the wire to match the other brake lever. Then all you need to do is glue it to the handle. Sometime making you own repairs can be very satisfying. Pst some pictures if you would like more help or the accolades of your fans when you make the repairs yourself:):)

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll take a shot at trying to fix it myself. I'm going to get the CA and the other materials.

I do hope that this works out for you. Please let me know if I can help any further. also if you will post the picture I may have further ideas on your repair. Good luck.

Hi kilted vampire:

Thanks to your information I was able to repair my two AK motorcycles. I used wire and bought the CA adhesive (great stuff, didn't even know it existed), and then I used Vallejo paint. The repairs are not perfect but I am happy with them. I am now repairing a rifle strap of an 8th Army soldier and a couple of other things. Thanks for the info.

Glad to be of service. It is not to hard and it can be rewarding to fix pieces by ones self. All you need is a little help from your friends:D
