Wishing good thoughts for the fellas in the path of the Hurricane off the Atlantic Coast heading up the Northern states...stay safe.

How symbolic that the concert in NYC to celebrate the "comeback" was a washout. I guess no one involved in the planning watches the Weather Channel and understood it was a bad idea to hold a large outdoor event in the midst of a hurricane. And who were those fans standing around knee deep in a Biblical deluge? Did they expect the show to go on?

The latest storm of the century has passed; they were calling for 3 to 5 inches of rain here two days ago along with high winds/power outages.

Then they downgraded it to a tropical storm.

We got enough rain to fill a thimble and I think I saw a tree branch on one of our trees out back move once.

Don't get me wrong, not complaining, but that said, it's incredible how in 2021 with all the sophisticated weather tracking equipment weather forecasters have at their disposal how wrong they are time and time again.

The governor of Ma shut down all public transportation for today, Red Sox game postponed, they played through monsoons, but raindrops is another story apparently.

The mob scene departing off of Cape Cod yesterday was................something, route 6, one of the main highways leading to one of the two bridges off the cape looked like Napoleons retreat from Moscow minus the snow, people were stampeding off the Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket ferry's like cattle, power company trucks lined up waiting to get on the ferry's, wonder what they did all day today.

Speaking of mobs, Home Depot was something yesterday; every sandbag, sheet of 100.00 plywood, generator and battery that was not nailed down was piled into carriages.

The return lines on Monday at the store will be just as long.

My Dad used to have 200 flashlights at our house for when the power went out; never had any batteries though, funny that......................

Apparently CT, parts of RI and Central/Western MA got clobbered, so best wishes to those folks in all seriousness.

There was 17 inches of rain somewhere in TN. That is ark building weather.

The only problem with the constant series of "storms of the century" is that the populace (rightfully so) begins to suffer from the boy who cried wolf syndrome.

Yes 17 inches of rain and fourteen feet of water. Wiped out Curso NC with five people drowned and Canton just outside of Asheville NC was under water. Unbelievable the amount of damage.

The deluge has arrived in Old PA today. It is coming down hammer and nails. Maybe 7 inches of rain. Thankfully no wind. So our Soviet bloc-era power grid shouldn't be impacted. Lots of flooding, though. A good time to be in the water damage business. A lot of basements are going to be big swimming pools.

The rains came through and then the wind. We had some minor flooding, nothing serious. We were very lucky this time. Worst since Sandy.

We didn't get anything bad here in Cumberland Country but it seems there was a few tornadoes here in Jersey. Mullica Hill seems to have got hit by one pretty good.100,000 without power in state.Tornadoes?This isn't Kansas.{eek3}

Philly looks like it was hit pretty bad as was NY. They closed the subways and cars were not allowed to be driven. A lot of people had to spend the night in the subway.

The rain here last night was incredible, a non stop monsoon for hours on end, then this morning, the sun was out.

We're bone dry here, but Rhode Island and north of here got clobbered, saw an image of a street that caved in. a massive sink hole, not sure how those people are supposed to get out of their houses, it will be weeks before that can be repaired.

That's two major storms to hit this area in a week to 10 days.

Luckily no wind at all to speak of.

That was the most rain that I have seen here in the last 15 years. I had to put a large garbage can under one of my gutters that was overflowing. It filled up several times with just the overflow. Hundreds of gallons. An incredible amount of rain. The absence of any wind really limited the overall impact. If you get that kind of rain that softens up the ground, the trees start falling on the power lines and then there is no power for days or weeks.

I didn't realize how hard some areas here in Jersey got hit. Mullica Hill looks like a war zone.Up to 20 dead in northeast.I think that's more than down south. So sad for the people affected.

My wife was hit by a falling tree on Friday. It was not because of Ida, but the several lines of thunderstorms that came through last week.

Fortunately, she heard the cracking and started running. A limb about twice the size of a baseball bat hit her in the lower back leaving a really big contusion. She's been in bed up until yesterday.

A few more trees have fallen over here in NoVa since then. I am glad there is not a lot of wind, but a lot of sunshine in the forecast for the next few days.

Hope she is ok Larry.

Me either, just watched several videos from NJ, in one neighborhood many houses had damage due to a tornado, the videos of the flooding in NYC subways and also parkways in NJ looked biblical.

Unreal, what a mess.

Hope all the members here and their families and friends are ok.
