This figure was made in 1993. Since I am now in a Napoleonic frenzy, I thought I might as well update this figure with some painting touchup in between the more involved projects.

I decided to change the pose a little to liven things up a bit. The trumpet was discarded and a new trumpet was used. The wire sling was substituted. The cartridge box strap was replaced with a thicker metal strip. The right arm was substituted. The plume was replaced.

Victor,

I'm always "in a Napoleonic frenzy" so I would like to see more of your figures soon.

Hello Markster and John,

Thanks for your comments. Vive le Empereur!

After touching up the base, I carefully repainted the whole piece, almost done. So far, I think that this re-work is a vast improvement on the original.

And I've completed refurbishing this piece! I took the final pics with my fancier camera. The two dates record the first time I had made this figure and the second time when I refurbished this piece.

Victor,

you are just like me, the more you paint, the better you get :)

or is it ... "Practice makes perfect" ???

I'm reminded of the golfer - Gary Player. He won a tournament once ( can't remember which one), but a "gushy" interviewer stuck a microphone in his face and babbled the usual rubbish - but included something like " It must be wonderful to be lucky enough to be born with that kind of talent" ( or words to that effect).

Gary, ever polite and quietly spoken, replied "Thank you - and yes, I am lucky - but do you know, the more I practice, the luckier I get".

I guess it's the same thing with painting. Nice job again Vic.:salute:: jb

Hello John and John,

I suspect that the superior iPhone 6 camera had a part to play in this perfection. Great Job, Stevie!
