I am ashamed. (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

Just got back to the lush, green hills and peaceful valleys of Hong Kong from the wild and wooly East… (Canton that is) and found a terrible and ‘orrible kerfuffle had broken out among the gentle, peace-loving and warm-hearted folks who inhabit the Treefrog Forum.

What could I have done I pondered to have caused my old friend Pat to be so, so, so ashamed?

How could I have “dodged” and “fudged” and tried to pull the wool over so many trained and expert eyes with my little Rammjager? Especially those of my old sparring partner from Suid Afrika.

And why, going all the way back to the guy who started the ball rolling… Pierre… are you bringing up the problems of French Canadians in Quebec in the nineteen-sixties and going to shop at Eaton (the biggest store in Montreal at the time)? What, I ask you, is that got to do with the subject of the Rammjager and, even more strangely, Andy’s nature?

This forum and its participants have given me some of the best insights… ideas… and thought provoking moments of the last couple of years. It’s sometimes made me mad (but not for long)… it’s often made me laugh (because of the witticisms and antics of some members) and… most often… it’s given me many, many hours of unadulterated pleasure getting to know hundreds of great guys (and a few gals) all over the world. Simple as that.

Does it occasionally get “over-heated” or even a little “over-the-top”? Of course it does. All of us have thoughts and opinions that we like to share with others that’s what a forum is all about. It would be pretty boring if we all agreed on everything all of the time.

Well… we don’t and that’s life… real life that is and get used to it. We’re all big boys now… and we can have a laugh now and then… mais oui ou non?

There’s absolutely, positively, definitely no need for anyone to be ashamed on anyone else’s behalf… and certainly not on mine.

Many, many years ago, when I was a wee boy growing up in Scotland, my mum used to say “Cry and you cry alone… laugh and the world laughs with you.” Of course, she also said “The more you cry… the less you pee!”

Love, kisses and a warm fuzzy feeling to one and all (especially mon ami Pierre, that wiry old Springbok Damian and last, but not least, Pat).

Am I the guy who started the ball rolling?

I do not think that asking you informations about a jet that I do not know despite the fact that my first contacts with aircrafts of WWII occured forty-five years ago can be called like that.

I asked for days informations about the Rammjäger and finally, in a thread about the Battle of Bulge   , you wrote this:

On a completely different topic… our upcoming “RAMMJAGER”… A few Forum members seem to need… require… must have… positive… definitive evidence that this little beauty actually existed. Well, I got the info from the book I told you all about… pure and simple. I liked the look of it and thought it would make an unusual and original addition to the K&C range. End of story.

The use of the words few members shows how much little respect you have for the inquiry.

The use of the word seem qualifies the inquiry as extraordinary.

The use of the words need, require, must have qualifies the inquiry as unreasonable.

The use of the expression pure and simple shows how little importance you give to the inquiry.

The use of the words positive evidence qualifies the inquiry as impossible to fulfil and was intended to reverse the burden of proof.

The use of the words little beauty is intended to give you the best part, to avoid to answer the inquiry, to avoid to admit that it is a fictional model and to give the bad part to the few members.

But the worst, is the use of the expression End of the story which is clearly an order to stop to bug you. You were so annoyed?

Accordingly, I replied to your post and ask you four (4) questions.

You choose to start a new thread (why?) entitled Andy's nature and posted "something" that was nonsensical.

Honestly, I did not understood what you tried to do (and I still do not understand your post) but if it was supposed to be funny as some members suggested, I can tell them that it was everything except funny.

Clouseau is a clown and his main characteristics are: stiffness and impossibility to see obviousness.

You are right, bringing the sixties and Eaton had nothing to do with the Rammjäger but has to do eveything with your attitude.

Even now, you are trying to reject the responsability on me, the guy who started the ball rolling.

I think that you made your point of view quite clear today as I made mine quite clear too.

Accordingly, there is no need to reply. End of the story.

Votre ami du Québec,
Pierre Bousquet.

I am closing this thread as frankly I don't see it serving any purpose anymore. The two primary parties, Andy and Pierre, have had their say although if Andy wants to post one more time about the topic, I will reopen it for that one post only.

The questions that Pierre posed to Andy have been, as lawyers say, "asked and answered." Now, the answers may not be to Pierre's or everybody's liking but those are the answers.

I wanted to clarify one point. I would only re-open the thread for Andy to say something is because Pierre had the opportunity to make his points, Andy responded and then Pierre further responded, and it would only be fair to let Andy post if he then wanted to say something else.
