I assure you all that I first asked Shannon if this was appropriate to post on the forum. She said it took some thought due to the "can of worms" this could open but she also realized that this was a tremendous opportunity to do a lot of good for a very good cause.....the fight against Cancer!
As some of you may know for the last 3 years I have participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life through my firm Calamos Investments. This year I will again be staying up all night on June 20th in support of this most worthy cause. Last year “ Team Calamos”, with the help of friends and family like you, was able to raise over $60,000.00 in the fight against Cancer and was the second largest fundraiser in the State of Illinois.
Our CEO John P. Calamos Sr. has promised to match, dollar for dollar, all that we raise. So if you help me in this fight you can double the impact of your kind donation! Can you believe that more than 1.3 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year? Those are staggering statistics, but there is hope. I realize times are not the best right now for fundraising (With gas prices and the economy where it is...and with all this great product!)
so if you are unable to donate I ask that you keep me in your thoughts on June 20th…the first year we cooked in the heat….the second year we froze…..last year it rained on us….all a small price to pay in order to make a huge difference in the lives of cancer patients who have to live every day with this terrible disease.
