Hi guy's can anyone give me some more information on this mystery WW2 bunker found on Bunya road Bunya on the north side of Brisbane. I herd about this bunker from a work mate who found it riding motor bikes twenty years ago. All I can find out is that the RSL do no about it but can't tell much about it. There was a air field for spitfires at Strathpine plus other military bases all around the northern suburbs during WW2 . I am thinking maybe rader station for the air field as it is on a hill. But why is it on it's own ? Maybe some guy's who are better at research can look into this and give some answers . Can you help. Simmo.

Also notice the raised concrete at the doors. There are hinges there and the blast doors have been removed. At the time it would off been out in the wilderness but now has housing within a kilometre of it. It has four rooms and one of the rooms is only visible from the roof. Are there any ex researchers out there with some time and skill to dig deeper into this mystery bunker. Simmo.

Simmo,
This site may shed some light on the matter, Strathpine was a large military camp during WW2 with the R.A.A.F and the Yanks all over the place. I couldn't find any mention of that bunker itself but it is a fair bet it was a ammo bunker that had some relationship to the camps in the area.

Thanks Wayne but that is still a guess. A good guess but . The bunker is amongst the hills and very well hidden. Sounds good about the ammo thou. Would they build such a bunker just for training way out there. Good thought I will look into this more. Simmo.

I have just found out that Clear mountain was a firing range during WW2. This would of been perfect for this bunker in Bunya as the distance of the two is around 10 to 12 KM away. So Wayne you might be right . Until I get further information this seems to make a lot of sense. Simmo.
