I just heard from a friend of mine in Massachusetts that she and her family lost their home to the one that hit there! They were in the basement when the house was taken, the photos are stunning. She has a foundation and a lot of debris left of what was her house for the past 10 years. Thankfully she and her son were ok.

I heard it hit Springfield where I used to live.

I cannot confirm this 100% but apparently one touched down in/near my hometown on Thursday night. We certainly experienced the highest winds I ever recall since living there. My wife and daughter were locked in the mall for 1.5 hours and my brother was locked in Wal Mart- the police and fire departments weren't letting anyone out.

We had a lot of trees come down, my wife had to close her daycare till the power returned. I had two large 800-1,000 pound branches get ripped off my trees. We also had hail.

I dunno man, I wouldn't be messing around with this stuff. Please be careful.

Wow Chris that some nasty weather to deal with! At least you picked up some firewood...

But seriously I cant for the life of me figure out the crazy weather you guys have been dealing with in the states. Stay safe and be watchful of downed power lines.

Hey Brad,

The footage from Springfield is pretty wild. My friend lived in Brimfield and there was one the hit down in what used to be my Grand Parents home town Monson, So it looks like Mass got hit pretty bad all around last night.

We had three tornadoes in the area last week. Lots of downed trees including one that was over 300 years old!

Yeah, the weather has been CRRAAZZYY!! Last Thursday, as Combat eluded to, it was pretty severe- it was so odd for me though as it was like 90-95 degrees all day long and then around 7:30 when the high winds/tornado died down, there was a big pile of ice on the ground where all the hail had rolled off the peak on my front porch.

I should have all the wood split and piled this weekend.

In Michigan this is our fifth day without power. Storms and straight line winds wiped out the whole area. I did not get much damage but many houses and trees are down. The power trucks are finally arriving from other states to help restore power. The schools are still closed. One golf course lost over 700 trees. This weather is getting crazy. J

I live in a town right next to Springfield, and 4-6 people died. Let's hope our Springfielders are alright. On the bus home from school (last day today) the hail was around an 1-1.5 inches in diameter.

Hi Sandor,

I would have to guess you are either in Brimfield or Monson. My friend lived in Brimfield, I dont know where she and her family are living right now but they are amazingly lucky to be alive. I just hope they had a good home owners policy and will be able to rebuild.

Stay Safe

Yeah we have ecoli here and its interesting that they have no idea where it came from. Of course the simple solution is to wash all the raw vegis before you eat them...

Amazing that some folks forget the basics. Thanks.

I know its really amazing how easy it is to avoid most foodborne illnesses. The other thing that is interesting is our American Commisary has pulled all the letuce, Cucumbers and most of the tomatos from the shelf, while the German Stores are still selling all of these items...

Dave

I can imagine the dinnertable discussion at your house:

"Dad, I don't want to eat my broccoli- the Commisary says this broccoli is a national security issue- "- gonna be hard to counter that argument!! {sm4}

I wonder if this is one of those "more things/people to be afraid of" stories to distract the public.

After reading this one I gave up and went to McDonalds...{sm3}
