I wasn't able to find this film on a previous threat, but I found this 1967 East German movie on Netflix. It is the story of a young Soviet Lieutenant in the last days of WWII. The Lt. was born in Germany but his parents moved to Moscow when he was a young boy. The Lt. is an interpreter and Propaganda broadcaster for the Red Army. The film is subtitled and in black and white.
I thought that it was pretty entertaining and although the Soviet Army is shown in a good light, I didn't feel like it was over the top. There were a couple of T34/85's and a Su-100 to lend ambiance to some scenes. The uniforms looked pretty good. There were a lot of Sturmgewehr 44's in the movie. Although in one of the few action scenes, the star is firing from behind a pile of Stg 44's, if you look closely he is firing an Ak-47. Check it out on a rainy afternoon.
