To All Members of the Forum,
In the early 1990s a British toy soldier manufacturer (partnership of M (something) and Tarrant) produced a series of glossy or matte 1:32 scale sets which in total provided a display of the Royal Navy Field Gun Competition. Am seeking any further information and potential availability of any and/or potentially all the sets comprising the total display. Based on the available jpg labels the maker's series catalog code may be L1,L2,L3, etc. Am attaching an image of the overall display, as well as some of the selected sets. Apologies regarding the quality and small scale of the images. My sincere thanks in advance to anyone who can provide any additional data.

Jim,

this set is the Royal Navy Field Gun Team set that David Love made for his range of kits under the name of Mountford. It depicts the Last Run at the Royal Tournament in 1999.

It came as a set, including the base.

The gun and limber were reboxed and another Royal Artillery crew added and sold as a 12 Pounder in the Boer War.

I hope that helps,

John

To Brad and John,
Sincere thanks to both you gentlemen for your prompt replies and helpful information. Will certainly pursue. Given your friendly nudge of my memory, now remember my quires at the time, and it seems to have been a rather healthy price. Sensational set but more than my sporran could bear. Perhaps representative parts of the set. Once again my thanks.

Jim,

I am willing to sell the unopened kit, and you could have gun and limber, someone else may like the gunners???

The sailors may be available from other makers, or something that would suit?

At least you now know about the history of the set and where you can get a gun :)

John,
Sincere thanks for the offer of the gun kit. Will pass at the moment. As a teenager acquired and saved the Britains Set No. 79, box and all. Have sent a PM to Fleurbaix in order to determine availability and prices.
