I have recently started collecting Britains WW2 models and would like to know where i can get a comprehensve list and pictorial image of all models- particulary with regards to the Britains Tanks - and especially the panzer model 17498 A to L

Dear Tora7770,

We expect a softcover book covering all matte finish releases since the time Ertl bought Britains to be released in October. It will also have a list in the back of the glossy releases but without the pictures. We are taking preorders on the book and the cost is $15. We haven't heard any updates lately about it. I'll check with my sales rep and see if he has heard anything.

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

Do you have an update on publication of this book? Was it ever published?

Originally I was told the manuscript was finished and RC2 was going to go through with printing the book because they had gotten so far with it. Nothing ever came of it that I know of though so I think once ownership changed hands they scrapped the project.:(

Has anyone followed up with Britains First Gear about it? I would buy it right away. I think a publication on all Britains new metal figures would sell well.

The book has been put on hold for now. It focused on the matte finish figures. We have decided to wait a year or so until we can include more of the new figures from W. Britain under First Gear.

Cool! Glad to hear it is still a viable project. I have had people on a waiting list for a year and a half for this book, not to mention I would like one for reference as well.

Shannon,

Do you know if the book will still cost $15.00 when it becomes available? I, too, would love to have a copy for reference purposes!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Richard,

Happy NY. Great to have an update, I just read about this. Since the project is on hold, perhaps you could consider widening the scope? What do you think of including all new metal figures, matte and gloss, say from 1984?

Hi Hugh:

Great idea - so good as a matter of fact that I believe someone else is working on it already - so we have limited our scope to the new matt finish figures that Ken and I first started in the late 1990's. I do not have much more info on the 1984 project.

There will not be any pamphlets ahead of the new catalog - there will be a smaller collector catalog due out about two weeks after the full size one.

Happy New Year and best wishes,

Richard

Richard,

Look forward to the catalogues. Re the "1984 project," can you say who is doing this? Any further info would be of great interest to us. :)
