I walked downstairs at the Imperial War museum yesterday to be confronted by senator John Mccain of all people!.I was really surprised to see he was over here,i'd have thought he'd have one or two things to attend to at home!.

Hi Rick,

He does get around doesn't He!.Stay safe out there,

Rob

Rob,

Did you help him out, show him around or was someone else doing that?

Hi Brad,i was taking a tour at the time so couldn't help out.He was surrounded by museum staff and he had a lady and a teenage-ish boy with him.So he appeared to be well looked after, there were also what looked like some security guards too.Probably in case i tried to get him to join my tour!;)

Maybe Hillary will drop in next time Rob? Back in the late 1990's we had the G8 summit here in Birmingham and Bill Clinton went to one of the pubs on Broad Street for a beer. His security detail made sure the beer glass was destroyed afterwards.
At the time Birmingham city council did an advertising poster campaign for the event. It had a picture of a smiling old lady and the words "Get your hair done Doris, Bill's coming to town"
He had a good sense of humour and really liked it apparently. I think the lady did get to meet him at a function later.

Hey, remember the summit well. Was deployed on public disorder duty. Most fun I had in a long time :D;)
Didn't get to see Bill C, but did bump in to Edwina Currie. Not quite the same really....

Thats a good story James,i know Bill had his critics, but i liked him.

A couple of other would be celebs i have seen at the museum are ; Todd Carty(him from Eastenders)Martin Bell MP,and a Lib Dem MP who is their deputy leader, and the surving cast of Dads Army.I actually got an autograph of the actor who spoke the famous line from Dads Army...

'Your name will also go in zee book, what is it'?
'Don't tell him Pike'
