I was wandering around my favorite dealers last evening (yes, TF was one ;)) and noticed that a few of the series I am working on have several pieces which are out of stock at many retailers. Specifically, the Scots Greys and Black Watch Highlanders had a number of figures out of stock. As I am new to the hobby is this generally a sign that retirement is just around the corner?

I was fortunate to pick up the few elusive figures on from a dealer I have been meaning to try but I wondered if this is the norm or simply a sign they are quite popular.

I wish you all a fantastic weekend.

I hope they are not being retired,i havn't got the Greys yet!.;)

Cheers

It doesn't necessarily mean retirement. Some dealers like Treefrog carry more stock than others. Of course, carrying more inventory means higher costs as you're biting into capital so not all dealers want to do that.

From what I understand, the severe weather that China experienced delayed some of the re-orders that K&C had made. There are some items that we will be restocking as soon as K&C gets it back in.

Ahh, thank you all for the responses - especially Peter who is "in the know" so to speak. The troubles in China makes sense now that you mention it. I too was hoping it wasn't the case as I have 3 more SG to purchase and don't know if I can swing it before a month or two from now.

At the least, I would expect it might highlight which pieces are "hot" right now but the numbers purchased initially might be in play there as well.

For the NAps ... the KGL was recently retired just before the introduction of the Russians. Its likely that we will see new Fench artilley later this year ... so the question is, which of the NAP will precede that in retirement. The French Imperail Guard & artillery ?

and if, if the Polish Lancers are also on the way ... who else will go ? The Chasseurs or the Scots Grey ?

For AWI ... the Indian auxillaries made way for the Hessians. Who do you think will make way for the reportedly new Continentials ? Would it be the existing bluecoats or the green marines ?

What do members think ?

I would think that the OLD AWI Cont. Army figures would be replaced with the NEW.

In the Nap Range - I sure hope the Old Guard can stick around for a little longer. But, the Scots Greys are coming close to their end - I am affraid.
