yes and as metal in the description,confusing innit?.Suspect these are an Australian Scottish Pipe Band set that Have been known to sell boxed commonly above $100.o.

I would say that that is an example of Imperial Production's set # 10a. The interesting thing is that the box for 10a (in our collection) indicates that it should consist of a Drum Major, 3 pipers, a side drummer and a 'base' drummer.

Clearly, that is not the case with this set.

Did the original owner swap a piper for a drummer in reassembling this set or did Imperial Productions make some sets with 2 pipers and 2 side drummers?

Only the shadow knows for sure.

Wasn't this part of a two box set? I remember there being a 12 piece band way back when.

Yes, there were two parts; 10a and 10b.

In our collection (and according to the box label) set 10b consisted of three pipers and three side drummers for a total parade of Drum Major, six pipers, four side drummers and a bass drummer.
