I wanted to see if people agreed with my division of the French and their allies and British forces produced thus far by Imperial in their Napoleonic series. Here is what I have. Let me know if I'm mistaken on any of these.

French and allies: 41 sets total (includes: 93-97, 101-111a, 117-120, 123-125a, 127, 130-138-2, 140, 243-144).

British: 14 sets total (includes: 112-116a, 121-122, 128-129, 139, 147-148).

Yup, that's got it. (so far)

As I am sure you have gathered, the vast majority of the Nap poses (especially the French and friends) are marching/parading poses. And, yes , there is definitely a disparity between the French and the English.

However, the parity is much closer if you consider just the action poses or step back and consider the French/British parity that is reflected by the whole collection from Imperial.

In the Naps; 130-134, 135-7 and 143-4 are ten French action posed sets. The Brits have only five action posed sets in the Nap range (128-9, 139 and 147-8). There were certainly more Frenchmen at Waterloo than there were Brits.:)

If you step back and take in the collection as a whole, it balances more on the Brit advantage, even setting aside all the Commonwealth sets. The Brits have a big parade in the Crimean range as well as one in the Egypt/Sudan range (HS1). The size and majesty of the French parade in the Nap range is nicely balanced by the British parades from other ranges.

Just some observations.

Cheers,
D

I think 130 should be in the British side. Thus, that gives them one more set.

Yeah... except for the fact that no limey in good standing would ever shoot a French cannon unless he had no other choice.

Yesterday was like having the best Xmas ever. My "missing" 39 sets of Naps and 2 sets from the Sudan series arrived. What a rush getting two giant boxes with tons of Imperial sets. I now have all 55 sets of Naps done by Imperial. Unfortunately for my pocketbook, this means a new hunt will begin -- probably to fill in those missing Crimean sets. David Cowe is the undisputed master of the art. In my opinion, no one comes close to the detail, sculpting, and painting on glossy figures. These figures are like minature works of art.

Great news Dan , That many sets in one go is going to be hard to top .
I called into the shop briefly on friday and said hello .
Now youve got the best part of the job of setting them all up.
