I am a collector of the Imperial Productions-Around Town Series. I put them all up at Christmas time and get many compliments on how well done they are. The Craftsmanship of David and Kay Cowe is outstanding. I hope they continue to make more of them. My husband collects the Barclay lead figures that were used with the Lionel trains years ago. We have several that could use a new paint job and I would like to try my hand at this. However, I don't know what kind of paint to use and was wondering if anyone knew what kind of paint Imperial Productions use?

Not exactly a trade secret according to David when I spoke to him but would you believe they use standard oil based house paint high gloss enamels, some are mixed specifically for them by their local car repair shop, but standard paints otherwise....

Wow! I wouln't have thought of oil based house paint. There are certianly a lot of colors to choose from. Thanks for the tip. I will give it a try.

I think I have the Kettle Drummer! I do have some. I have always thought that the Dutch Red Lancers were wonderful. I have only seen a picture of them. Never in person. sigh
