Great news! The Imperial folks are really nice, and make a great product. For a few years they were my favorite, and I still have a ton of their stuff in storage.

Hi Vandilay,

I know this is early but will they have a printed catalogue?

This is about the best news I've had for a while, very happy about this!:D

All the best

Dave

Rob,

Great news! Also, I really appreciate the pictures of the shop you posted. It certainly looks like a clean, neat, warm, and inviting place. If you learn any further information (website, phone number, printed catalog, etc.) please pass it on to us.

I do not presently own any Imperial figures, but I certainly want to add some in the future! Again, thanks for the information. The fact that they have reopened the business is very encouraging news! :)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

This is great news. London Bridge in the U.S. will be selling Imperial. I got the price list the other day. Didn't want to say anything because the official word wasn't out. They're more expensive than they used to be but I think they're worth it. Vandilay thanks for the photos of the shop.

I wrote a letter to the owner of Imperial back in the mid 1990's to ask him a question about a set. He sent me a wonderful letter enclosing some photocopies from a historical book, along with some of his catalogue materials, and a map of the one street town where his shop is located. I still have it. I also have a scanner (although I have no clue how to use it). If somebody visits the museum who knows how to use scanners/computers better than I, I will scan the letter, the old catalogues and the map (heck, I even have the envelope it came in) and post them.

Hi Pat

It looks as if london Bridge in the US will be stocking them
http://www.londonbridgetoys.com/imperial.html
I dont know if imperial themselves have a current website, but I
dont think so at the moment.

Regards Rob

Hi Rob,

Boy oh boy! London Bridge has recently become my good friend as I made an outstanding purchase from them. I will certainly be in touch with them!

As I recall, Treefrog also used to stock Imperial figures. Does anyone know if this will be the case in the future?

Thanks for the information! Now, all I need to do is find some money! :D Well, I am also going to need to find some display room, but I'll take first things first. First, I must acquire some figures, then I will worry about room to display them. ;)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi Jr steel

They seem to have gone up about $15 NZ a set which I think is pretty
reasonable .I think part of the price Rise in the US is due to currency movements.
The $Nz has traded anywhere between 45-60 cents US on average.
Currently it is sitting at a shade under 75 cents, great for us buying things from you guys ,but not so good the other way around..
I think this is probably one of the biggest advantages of companys who
produce in china [other than labour costs ] as their currency is pegged to the $US.

Hi Guys,

I think the price increase is more than reasonable considering they werent even available a week ago. Of course if you were wanting some sets there had been a lot of them on ebay recently but they were even more pricey!

All in all very glad to see this one back with us.

All the best

Dave

FYI: I have written an article for Toy Soldier & Model Figure magazine which should be coming out this summer. I hope Imperial collectors will find it informative and interesting.

Recently visited London Bridge's web site to
look at their Imperial selection. I really wish
L.B.(or Imperial) would increase the size of the catalog photos-they are exquisite figures and deserve to be shown close up.

Roan I agree. I wish there were more photos of the Imperial sets. Here's the latest Imperial set I've acquired. Set No. 7 South Austrailian Scottish Infantry.

That is one of the first Imperial sets I purchased in 1994 and it still one of my favorites.

Very nice! It's a shame they don't make those anymore.
