Next Sunday a fantastic new series is starting on Belgian/Flemish television. "IN Flanders Fields" . The story of a Flemish family during the 1st WW with lots of battle scenes in the Belgian section of trenches .
I post a few pics of the set for you . I hope lots of TV channels around the world will broadcast this new series

The BBC has announced its biggest ever season of programmes between 2014 -18 with 2, 500 hours of tv and radio programmes! {eek3}^&cool

In Flanders Field was one of the classic poems of WW I. When I was growing up in the 60s it was required reading and I believe the post WW I children read it too; my Mother could recite it by heart. I believe that from this poem came the tradition of selling poppies on Armistice Day.
