..last night i watched this beautiful movie (with some acid remarks on the fighting prowess of my countrymen..but it's a war movie..!) and i'm asking why we don't have a range by K&C for the Royal Navy?I know about the FoB sailors and i have a few of them , hope soon to buy the shoeshine scene in SoHK but why not British Sailors in tropical white uniform?By the way for all the people here (few i presume)that haven't watched the movie..it's a little gem..i was really astounded by the realism..and beside it it was the first by a great director : David Lean!

Hi cantinetozzo,

K&C does have a retired range of Royal Navy figures, both past and present.

Thanks Raymond..i was thinking something more on the line of the new Kriegsmarine..a range that comprises only WWII and by the way in this series there wasn't any sailor in tropical uniform..Andy i'm sure will sell very well with a Royal Navy series..

Agree with the opinion on the movie. It was a good one. Lean is one of my favorite directors. -- Al

I have been wanting a range of Royal Navy for a while now...hope fully when K&C finish with the Battle of Britain they will start that series.....when you think of how long the Royal Navy has been around you should be able to design some interesting figures......love to see some .....:D

Raymond, ever noticed the 'Redcoats' in your Rorke's Drift piccy are using bolt action rifles?

Harry,

I guess they could not find a sufficient number of serviceable Martini-Henri rifles for the "Zulu" film.

The Martini-Henri rifle was a breech loader.

Thanks, Raymond.:)

Yep, they had plenty of Martini-Henrys for the film, the Long Lee Enfields were used in background shots. When they filmed the 'bayonet' Platoon advancing and volleying someone blundered, they all advanced and volleyed with bolt action rifles... not many people know that.

Harry,

I did not know that. Good job they did not load "live" rounds.

Thanks for the info.
