This is the "big question": to increase it and see regular incrasing of price or keeping it like it is now, thinking that it is already very good and keep the prices stable?

In my opinion, the second one is the good one: to me the quality reached by the main manufacturers is already very good and for sure the level of prices "over the top" for a " toysoldier".
Sure, every one has a different need and different quantity of money ( or decide to spend more or less in a hobby).

But the question of the quality depends on "how" you collect. If you make dioramas, you won' t need to spend a lot of money in a "high quality" as what is more important in it is the whole scene, the originality of the action, the colours and a " good quality"( which we have already now).

Instead,If you are very rich or pretending the high detail, you will buy the " russian" figures, which on the other hand are not adapted to make a diorama!

In general you can see this " evolution" in all: computers, television sets, cars, and so on.....Of course the new version of your telly will be always more expensive than the previous one...Maybe nicer, larger....But do you really want to spend each time more money, or just a screen for the same price is not enough?

ps: " Increasing quality"

May I answer some of your questions about russian figurrs ?

yes they can be used for dioramas.. depends if you want 10 or 100 figures but it can be done.

Now, in addition to their higher price there are other crucial differences between russian and asian made toy soldiers :

- russian figures are soldered to their base most of the time and not only glued
- russian figures have stainless steed blades while asian guys carry lead blades most of the time
- russian figures are 100% hand painted : no decals whatsoever
- russian figures are unique, signed by the painter, produced in lower numbers and the paint job is very different from one to another, even if the sculpt is the same
- no asian figure can come close to the quality of the average high end russian figure in terms of quality and precision of painting.

so which one do you prefer : it's up to you but you already know which one I prefer !

Poppo ,

IMHO , Using K&C for example , I like the sculpting & painting & look of their figures & also like the look & detail of their AFV's...Their quality has definetly improved from the figures i had purchased in the mid 90's...Like you said in your post , most people create diorama's &/or display's in their cases...
I personally would not really be interested in collecting say for example one $125 infantry figure because it's realism is sharper...
I am interested in creating a unit or a minor skirmish with my AFV's & infantry...Not saying that anyone who chooses to do that is wrong...To each his own...
But as far as pricing...It may continue to go up even without any significant quality upgrade because the price of the figure is accounting for cost of labor & raw materials...As those prices go up so shall the price of TS's even though there may be nothing different from them...
So to answer your question , i think the quality is already very good & IMO i am happy with it...So hopefully this will keep the pricing somewhat stable in the future...

I agree with you Alex, and I would add that not only the painting, but also the fine sculpt of the russian figures is not comparable to the asian figures: I saw they have ex. extra detailed faces in which you can see the slightest expression, and so thin and light coats and clothes, the realism is perfect, I agree with you these are real "art" things...( while in asian figures the flags and hats are often thick like a "sandwich").

But for myself I m satisfied with the asian ones for making a diorama ( in museum dioramas, the quality of the figures is more close to the asian ones).
