Looking for an official name and/or set number for this group. The only place I've found it so far is on an auctioneer site where they had it listed as an Indian Army Cavalry. That does not seem correct to me. Is it?

No, it is not. They go with PW 1, Prince of Wales on Elephant. I have them. They have a PW designation but I’m not sure of the number, somewhere below PW 10.

"The other guy"

Taking a stab in the dark and guessing you're referring to the guy between the green prince and the fan bearer. He has a rope lead which I assumed made him a horse han.dler. From your response, I also take it that there's actually 2 sets involved here. Is that correct? I have the elephant too. I saw that it had the Prince of Wales as one of the riders, but, eBay had PW1 listed as Indian Raj on State Elephant.

Yes, there are two sets. The other mounted figure is probably PW 11A. You can’t go by what eBay says. The elephant is Prince of Wales.

Oh, I'm well aware of that. I just located another set in this collection that a well known overpriced seller had listed as an Indian Artillery set and it was most obviously Egyptian. I'm less than a year into this culture and even I was able to point that one out. LOL

Are you referring to Champs and Bums?
