Good Afternoon:
This should be a fun link for those people interested in a possible reference source for the JJD's Indian Village.
From what I can see, it seems John's buildings are Huron or another Canadian tribe and not Iroquois. No problem at all with this approach and better fits with the idea of "Raid on Saint Francis". Both the wigwam and longhouses are covered under this link with many photographs. The palisade wall is also shown. Lot of photos here, so scroll, scroll ....
Apparently, John gave us "summer" wigwams of birch bark. So if a family wanted to, they could moved out of the longhouses for the summer and set up a temporary dwelling while still remaining inside the palisade wall. Or if they wanted and it was considered safe, they could move outside the palisade wall altogether.

Some info on Iroquis's Longhouses: The curved lower walls of both of John's longhouses are not typical of Iroquois. The Iroquois longhouse walls were vertical for the first 10 feet of so then the curve of the dome began. There would have been an overhang where the dome of the roof and the top of the wall joined.
