I have a set of Potsdamer Zinnsoldaten size 2 in a wodden box. It is numbered, #760; It is called British Army: Bivouac on the Nile. Does anyone have any information on this set? Thanks. Big Daddy

Potsdamer Zinnsoldaten is Joe Schemek's company which makes Heyde-like, smaller scale toy soldier sets. At one time, he also made 54mm sets containing eight figures (e.g., PZ18 Union Corps du Africa) which were numbered PZ1, PZ18, etc. The just concluded Old Toy Soldier Auction this weekend, included several lots (1020 through 1035) of his soldiers. Joe is a retired U.S. Army colonel who formerly lived in Monterrey, California and who now resides in Texas. He use to sell at both the West Coaster and Chicago shows, but has limited his presence to Chicago for the past several years.

Thanks, Mike, that is great information. Joe certainly does very fine work. The set I HAVE IS LARGE AND well done; it includes animals and camp stuff. I haven't gotten to either of those shows, but I never miss the one in Valley Forge, Pa. Best reagrds,
Big Daddy
