Today is International Women's Day. It is a celebration of the political, economic and social achievements of women around the world. This day is used for men to express their love and gratitude to the women around them. It is similar to St Valentine's Day but with a much more serious theme to highlight the struggles of women worldwide.

I was listening to a talk on teh radio about International Woman;s day. Having daughters has made me think a lot about it. They were talking about the plight of women in general you know with human trafficking for teh sex trade and things like female circumcision in Sudan and the restrictions in places like Saudi. Thanks for posting this Harry. It is a good thing for us to think about.
Regards

Yeah, a lot of nationalities take it really seriously. (As they should). The Russians in especial. I found myself in Siberia, 1994?...might have been, on IWD. The ladies in the hotel celebrated - all day. It was a pretty special occasion and I'm glad I experienced them enjoying their day so much.
Cheers

Considering how understanding my wife has been this weekend with the Symposium going on, I better wish her a happy international women's day via some flowers, etc.
