Interview with Alex Pisarev of Prikaz Toy Soldiers. (1 Viewer)

More great work! You are very quickly becoming the #1 news source for breaking plastic news. I can't believe the detail these Russian manufacturers are able to achieve in their figures. All seem to have little to no flashing a well. I don't know if that's the figures they show us or if they all come out so clean looking but they look great. Is it that technology is finally at a point that the can produce detail on such a small scale? I'm guessing toy soldier collecting is pretty big in Russia if all these new sets keep coming out of there.

I also love that these Russians are paying attention to things that are not widely if ever covered, instead of yet another ACW set we have German WW2 paratroopers (which I think only airfix ever produced) and the french indochina war which I believe has never been covered before.

Thank you. I am working on another interview that should be up this weekend. I was working on these interviews for a couple months and it seems that all of them have found time at the same time to answer the questions. I purchased 3 sets on eBay last year from Prikaz after I saw a preview of them on Stad's Stuff. Yes I think the technology has improved and that the network of sculptors & hobbyist working together for these companies has increased the production of sets. The only drawback is that most of sets are made in limited numbers. Most will not be made again it seems. I wish it was easier to get some of their sets too.

I also love that these Russians are paying attention to things that are not widely if ever covered, instead of yet another ACW set we have German WW2 paratroopers (which I think only airfix ever produced) and the french indochina war which I believe has never been covered before.

Yes. The best thing that I like about Prikaz is that they are making sets that you don't see often. The creation of characters is what you would expect for limited run sets.
