Interview with Andrew Stevenson of Replica Metal Soldiers & Models. (1 Viewer)

Yes indeed Dave - a good article and interesting interview.

As a continuing customer of Andy's - I would like to add my own personal observations too. I might add that I am in no way associateded with Andy's business - other than a friend and customer.

I have found, in my dealings with Andy - that he is one of the most positive people that I have ever dealt with. If you come up with an idea for something, and Andy doesn't have it in stock - he will invariably try to make it for you! Now, that is so different to many other makers - that it took some time for me to realise that, but it is true.

My recent acquisition of my lookalike Britains Life Guard Band is testimony to that. I merely mentioned in passing to Andy that I had been looking for that band for several years - without much success, other than an odd figure every now and then - and he offered to make a band for me - as castings - OR painted! - at very reasonable prices.

The evidence that what he said - he did - are there to see in other parts of this Forum.

So......... if you like the Hollowcast Toy Soldiers of old - but can't seem to find JUST what you're looking for anywhere - contact Andy - and you never know, your dreams might come true too.

Thanks Andrew. jb

I am not a big collector of the Traditional painted gloss figures. But I have a few and had casted my own figures as a kid. So I have some found memories of them. I was impressed about Andrews ambition and ability to bring all of this to life. He paints all different styles and different eras too. I think he fills in a niche for many collectors that are looking for unique set or hard to find item. I am looking forward to see what else he brings back to life as he expands.

Thanks for reading, Mike.
