Felt I should intriduce myself, before posting my unabashed opinions on some matter and the grand olde men look up at me and yawn. Just kidding...I started picking up odd pieces a couple years ago, just to remind me of my childhood of growing up with Bogart movie Sahara, G.I.Combat comics, and Oddball the tank commander. ( guess which 3 K/C vehicles I started with ) I never realized nor cared about the collector value of these pieces before. With an e-bay eduation, I now know what I have been missing, and so I try to speculate a little in order to buy those pieces I personally like. It is more of a nostalga kick for me rather than a lust to own 1 of everything, and quite frankly, I could never afford to be a bigtime collector as some of my lost auctions have attested too. Those deep pocket guys ( you know who you are ) have so far kept my collection modest..Hope to learn a few tricks from you K/C veterans and I promise to stay away from all auctions that you are involved in..( unless Shermans,Stuarts, or Lees, are involved )Thanks, Maddadicus

There's a lot great people here that are more than willing to help you and share valuable information and opinions. Welcome to both of you new members - it's good to have the group expanding! Personally, I have been a modeler, researcher, and "GI freak" forever. I first saw an ad in an English model magazine about this outfit with great looking figures and nice US vehicles. I tried looking up that King and Country outfit, but there wasn't much info at that time. What I did find made me think it was pricey to mess with. Then I visited Toy Soldiers Of Charleston while on a business trip and saw the products. Wow! I was hooked. Now I find this band of fellow collectors and have enjoyed the comments and exchange of information.

Welcome aboard! Its a fun group of guys, with a lot of knowledge about toy soldiers and history in general. Those of us who can make it meet up at the shows in Chicago (end of September), in California (the Westcoaster) the first weekend in March or at the New York Symposium (the second weekend in March). Although our wives (correctly) think we are all nuts, we have great fun.

I too waited and observed the postings prior to joining when I first found the forum. I joined after I felt that I would be welcomed and I have not regreted it, well maybe some of the other members have; but I don't care what they think anyway.... Naw na naw!! No seriously, there is a really great bunch of people on this forum, both sellers and collectors, male and female, US and other countries, old and young, new collectors and old hats. It is sure a good place for me to feel comfortable and discuss what my friends think is a childish post-mid life crisis. I love this hobby and I am just happy to have found others with whom I can relate.

Wecome aboard. I just joined at the end of January myself. I was worried that this might be just a King & Country site and was a little hesitant to join. However, although it has a hard core K & C component to it, there is room for collectors who have a broader interest in the hobby.
