I can already hear fellow collectors yelling blasphemy..... hear me out first..... I have been avid collector of the series that started in 2008 but when is enough 24th of foot when other items have yet to be touched from this genre... I have as many 24th of foot at rorke drift as that where there in 1879. So you ask why now... I just received my last 2 figures this weekend and to be honest they are starting look like the couple of hundred that I already have... yes a biscuit box added and a causality after 7 years is the newest offering... I think I am guessing 24th of foot fatigue as my space begins to run out... I think the series needs some fresh blood...how about all the missing horsemen units Imperial Mounted Infantry, Natal Mounted Police , Natal Carbineers, Newcastle Mounted Rifles Buffalo Border Guard from Isandlwana, the rocket battery, the poltical, spiritual or military leaders from beginning of Zulu dawn.. or further out and maybe the 17th lancers... what are others thinking?

I understand exactly what you are saying...

but...

I wish I had never sold mine now that they are gone...

Been of the same opinion for six months. The Hospital wagon was the last thing of interest. Now nothing on the horizon for months, even if there are new announcements of interest, they will not materialise until the second half of the year. Only good aspect, gives me more money to spend on other series. There is a good chance TG will fill in some of the gaps you mention and I for one can mix and match. Although I have every Britain's Zulu set produced, seriously thinking if there are just more endless foot figures with slightly different poses, I will pull the plug and hold out for the items you mention. Britain's have done Zulu so well initially and covered most of the aspects, but to some degree have been coasting on it's previous success for some time now. Let's hope they branch out soon and breathe some new life into the series for the long term collectors. Robin.

The rocket battery is the most glaring omission from Islandwana and must surely be due up as the next "biggish" set
We also need some mounted Basutho for Durnford.

17 Lancers takes us away from Islandwana and the Drift

No one has even done the political figures from the AZW and that would be interesting

Hello all,
It is important to understand that with any range that is ongoing, some figures that are retired must be replaced for new collectors entering the hobby. It is also an opportunity to improve some figures.

There are several new items finished that will appear in the remaining quarterly catalogs for 2015, and also 2016. There are also new offerings that will be collector's club exclusives.

Not unlike our ACW range, some offerings may not be specific to one battle either.

Almost all of the things mentioned in various posts are either finished, or are on list for development.
That is all I can share at the moment.

Thank you for your comments.
All the best,
Ken Osen

I second the statement about new collectors. As a younger collector, I cannot always afford to buy every new release, so it's nice to know that in the future, I'll be able to pick up a similar piece. WRT Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, the 24[SUP]th[/SUP] Reg't of Foot have been immortalized in Zulu and Zulu Dawn, and I don't think that the other units would have the same commercial appeal.
Cheers,
Brendan

I think I would prefer some more figures for these two wars before moving on.

BUT..............

Would it be possible Ken if starting another war within the AZW (or use on the existing series) to give the figures a prefix or a suffix? So for example the 17th Lancers could be 20199U or U20199 (U for Ulundi of course) the two newest figures could have been listed as RD20161 & RD20160 / 20161RD & 20160RD

I don't think that would work very well within our own numbering system, but I can see why you might be interested. I will have to give it some more thought.
It is also important to consider that some units may have been involved in more than one action, or in the case of a few mounted units, continually deployed as scouts throughout the conflict.

Thanks Ken,

Was just a thought I had, wasn't sure if it was/is viable though. As you say figures can be applied to other areas of the AZW. My problem is when setting up dios is remembering the different tribes ! LOL

There are a number of figures that could be added to the drift that are not generic. For example: Assistant Commissary Walter Dunn, Corporal Francis Attwood - Army Service Corps, Wheeler John Cantwell - Royal Artillery, Louis Byrne - civilian volunteer with commissary dept. There is also room for some more noncommissioned officers. Any chance of any of these cominging up Ken?
