If anyone has any desire to visit this battlefield in the near future I would plan to do this sooner rather than later. Planning permission has been granted on the surrounding areas for an extremely large 'heritage centre' (some more sceptical people believe this to be a bit of ruse on behalf of King Goodwill feeling that it will in fact develop into another Royal Homestead for said King). The landscape is changing around the site in any case, the surrounding villages are expanding exponentially and the difference in my most recent visit this year, to that of my last 10 years ago is marked.

I realise that an expanding population needs land but the tranquility of this once peaceful location is being lost with each passing year. A real shame. So if you want to visit, plan it soon.
