I had the privillege, Of meeting One the manufacturers, of this great hobby of ours. He was greatly approachable, Answered Questions, With Great excitement in His voice. And answered Questions that does go to the heart of this hobby of ours.
for example , We ask for a particular type of Model, And The manufacturer Does make it( Just of any manufacturer), Only For Us The collector. say. I am sorry, but I got this one instead. And in the process materials was wasted, That could have been used on something else. Every manufacturer's wish is is to make a model that will fly off the shelf(I.E. Shermans, I have 7 of them), so Every decision They make has to be based on them flying out. Not because that particular piece has not been done, I saw in one of the threads, Some of us are asking for pieces in the pacific war. But Is 60 percent of us going to buy it?? Probably not. But Anyone shows us a Sherman
made in a different version. we get it, with hardly a heart beat spent.
One particular manufacturer, Only makes 100 pcs. of anything that they make. And It has been scrutinized, because of the quantity. but does make sense when someone does not want any wasted materials, that could have been used to make a different model.
We are a finicky bunch us collectors, because we have all this manufacturers.to chose from, and let them know. what we want.
But, only for us to fail them. when it is made. We need to be commited on buying, when the things we ask for become available and not wait what next months offering are. Because then the trust between Buyer and manufacturer, would be solid. and they will listen to us, without any reservation.
Or we should stop asking for things, that we can not commited to buying.

Not sure i agree with all of that.I don't think all producers make models on the assumption that they will all fly off the shelves in the first five mins. Also many collectors just don't have the funds to rush out buy something straight away, but this does not mean they do not have the right to request something they would like to see, even if they can't get it as soon as its out. Also variety is the spice of life,a company like K&C has a superb range of different series, they know very well that (for instance)WW2 collectors spread their purchases across these.

I understand the point you are making and yes its great to be able to buy something as soon as its out(especially if you've been asking for it!)but we do have freedom of choice.I have only just purchased K&C's superb Stug, its been out years now and would have hated to miss it,so i'm glad its been around a long time.

I fully agree about Andy,he really is approachable and full of enthusiasm for his product, this is very contagious!:D

Are you trying to tell me the manufacturers are making items to people wish list  If it is it not my wish list as I would like to see loads of Market Garden stuff , but what we get is everything German as that sells & that why there loads of stuff
A good way of selling more of the stuff would be dropping the price for a start
Don't forget the manufacturers are three to make money & with all all the new items coming out three must be money to be be made ;)
I don't think you should be telling people what they can & can't do on this forum or with there money

Actually about your Arnhem point, its funny becuase people think its not being made or its being retired, but Andy said it was difficult fitting everything into the release schedule, but fear not its coming next year!;)

A point to bear in mind is that makers now fall into two categories. Those who sub contract their manufacturing out to China and those that produce "in house". The China companies have to order a set number of each item to make each delivery viable, some of each order will sell faster than others but it is not worth while reordering as that will just mean larger quantities of the slower movers sitting on the shelves. therefore it is easier to retire the fast movers and order brand new items. The "in house" brigade can make a new master, mould it and then produce it as and when requested and in consequence never retire items. They are also more inclined to listen to customers requests and, providing the request is not too far fetched, produce the required item.
