The Germans pound the advancing British with 88mm guns, mortars, MGs, and self propelled guns; the "soft underbelly" is indeed proving to be a "tough old gut".............

George

Top flight as always. Hopefully the farmer and his daughters will able able to greet their British liberators very soon. Did you build the farmhouse from scratch and if so what was your source of inspiration for its design? It's quite nice. It even has a balcony for the local Juliet to woo some Tommy Romeo. Have you seen the Hallmark Hall of Fame story about captured Brits and local Italians during WWII? It's not bad and was filmed on location. See below for reference

Thanks for the feeback Randy; a fellow from Belgium scratch built it for me, he does incredible work. His specialty is Italian buildings as you can see.

Have not seen that movie as of yet...........

Great dio as always George.
Don't you ever get tempted to set up all of your 1/30 and 1/32 terrain pieces for a play? I'd be like a kid in a sweet shop (as opposed to actually being a kid and trying to figure out how to stretch his pocket money out...:rolleyes:)

Simon,
Thanks as always for your feedback. I actually do set all of my 1/32nd and 1/30th scale stock up, but not for a play, but for a sale (or many sales) at the numerous shows I attend!

I was able to lay my hands on another Conte Church with priory set; it lasted all of one week and has gone out the door already, what a beauty that one is. Too bad he never did the addon to it, D-Day #8. I saw the prototype at the OTSN show afew years ago and it was SWEET.............

Don't mean to disrupt your thread George, but what was the D-Day 8 prototype?

I like the heavy foliage camo on the German tanks. That is something we don't see too much in the dios - probably to show off the tanks, but I see all the time on the history channel.

Simon,
D-Day #8 was to have the metal pak 40 and crew done in plastic along with several new German sculpts. The terrain feature was a battle damaged row of houses with sidewalks to the front and walled gardens in the rear; it was designed to display across the street from the church and priory.

A real beauty that one was, never saw the light of day I'm afraid........

Nice pics George, love that farmhouse, you seem to have everything you could want in that scale. Great setup :)
