Found these chaps in my ancient Greek part of my collection. Any clues as to who made them?

metal, 1/30 scale and absolutely nothing on the base.

Gary,
The first figure looks like a casting that is readily available from a number of Russian sellers on ebay. If you type in Spartan or Hoplite in the search facility in the toy soldier section, you should see a number of those guys pop up, not sure re the other one, but may be similar.
Cheers

Can you take some more pictures and back up a little, to get the full figure plus base in the shot? That would help ID'ing them a little more.

Prost!

But I agree with Simon. At first glance, I suspect a Russian sculptor. Also, on the first figure, his shield is upside down. The vee should be inverted, it's a lambda, he's a Spartan. That makes me think that it could be a kit figure, too. A full shot of the figure will help.

Prost!

Got it!
Its a Pegaso Models metal figure from the kit 54-815 "The Enemies: Athens vs. Sparta."

I don't have the entire assembled kit but I do have the same figure as yours.

The difference is on the ( lambda ) shield
Here it is embossed, this is typical of the Russian piracy, they usualy add a touch; like embossing of heraldry markings

Thanks all. Great detective work. At the weekend I will remove and re fix the shield.
