Well its been awhile since I posted on this forum. I have been busy cataloging my collection. I am about 20% through a collection of around 10,000 models. Once done I will come back with a vengeance!

I had a PM from someone enquiring about my progress on a 1066 diorama I am commissioning. So I thought I would share.

Regal in New Zealand have finished casting around 70 Saxons to make the shield wall. I have a Harold, Housecarls, Saxon militia, Wessex dragon wind sock banner and the mythical 'fighting man' banner of Harold. They are about to be painted and should be finished in February. I have then commissioned around 20 norman cavalry to come up the slope. Then i will consider Norman archers and infantry. All are around 58mm in height.

I will add some of the Cnte Saxons, Vikings and frisians to fill it out and would hope to pick up the new WB stuff.

As for my own collecting over the past few of months. Thomas Gunn seem to have had the majority of my funds with a Seafire, Gripen, Tiger Moth, FW190 (winter), WW1 DH2 pusher, Hellcat and BE110 planes. boy they cost. I have got 90% of the TG figures releases over the past three months as well. I have had a sprinkling of K&C with the Japanese Zero fighter and some ground crew, Eighth army indian and Russian infantry figures. I renewed my club membership and picked up the two Canadian Mountie figures. I also got 5 First Legion cavalry figures (Macedonian and Roman figures). Collectors Showcase also got in with the Roman scorpion set.

As for the next purchases I think I am gonna plump for the CS AWI British cavalry, WB Vikings and AZW British cavalry and I need to get in on the JJDs Bosworth stuff plus more FL cavlry and of course whatever TG seem to chuck out.

Have a happy holidays - still can't get used to Christmas in the sun!

Cheers

Gary

Wow I am in total in awe, Gary. Once they are painted, with Conte and WB figures in the ranks, it will be the ultimate Saxon shieldwall. Marvelous Job! Can't wait for Feb. {sm4}
