I just noticed all of the Jacobite sets are 500/750 (BJ-01) release numbers, except JR14, which is only 350. Actually less than collectors club figure #1. Just bear in mind.

That is peculiar...

JR15 and 16...two of the planned 4 "hand to hand" combat sets are 500 releases...

I got my JR14...so I'm not gonna sweat it...but if you don't...I would suggest you get it early soon...as a 350 release...it might fall into the retired section soon.

I just printed out his production list...it's a nice quick reference sheet.

Maybe John was trying to test the water re 'hand to hand' sets. Non the less, I would recommend getting this set if you collect the Jacobites! I have this set and its great.

The Jacobite line is probably the one that has most taken off for me. With little prior knowledge of Culloden, it is now a favorite. I hope John does some personality figures and the Royal Ecossois. As I said on the Collector's Club thread, Donald MacDonald would be a great addition both for Culloden and Quebec. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5w8SQtqZXPw

The JR 14 set might be a smaller release because it contains an officer, and therefore not being purchased in multiples like the other sets might be.

Great link, it makes some of the old Irish blood stir up.
Thanks for link.

Just my 2 cents worth, but the hand to hand sets are amongst the best things JJD has done. The grenadiers are great but the Jacobites are simply outstanding. The sets look fine on their own or put in among the other figures as a large battle. The man with the two-handed sword is a superb example of animation and color. I am looking forward to more. The Jacobites are my favorite series that anyone makes. -- Al

I'd like John do some other hand to hand sets in other ranges.

My Highlanders are becoming so outnumbered...

they are just not the types of sets that you buy multiples of...

the poses are just too unique to have 2 of...

they are all "one off" sets...

while on the other hand...

all the BJ's are typical multiple purchases...

firing lines, loading lines, defending lines, at the ready lines...

I need more Highlanders...

BADLY...

John had mentioned some time back that he was thinking of doing some French regulars...the Irish Brigade (Irish units in French service) that fought alongside the Highlanders...

these along with Doug's mention of the Royal Ecossois and some of Fitzjames Horse Cavalry and Irish Picquets...might even the odds a little bit...

I didn't know this...I just read that almost half of the above mentioned units were comprised of "press ganged" men claiming to have been captured or seized off British ships and forced to fight with the Highlanders.

I agree the Jacobite series is one of my favorites also.

Some more Jacobites would be welcome, especially with those colorful flags. These are just great figures with lots of action and color. IMHO, they can't be beat. -- Al

I love the Jacobites - Great Line to Collect with John Jenkins - hopefully we will get a Jacobite Collector Club Figure Soon ! :D
