ACC PACK 047; The Panzer IV was the backbone of the German armoured forces during WW2 and served right though from the Polish campaign until the bitter end in Berlin in 1945, with around 8500 being built in all versions. The Panzer IV chassis was also the basis for the Brummbar and Jagdpanzer and various other German armoured fighting vehicles.

The Panzer IV saw service in all combat theatres involving Germany and was the only German tank to remain in continuous production throughout the war. It received various upgrades and design modifications, intended to counter new threats and extending its service life. Generally, these involved increasing the Panzer IV's armour protection or upgrading its weapon systems. During the last months of the war with Germany's pressing need for rapid replacement of losses, design changes also included the simplification of the manufacturing process. The Panzer IV was supposed to be replaced by the Panther but like with many tried and trusted designs and a lack of suitable replacements, the Panzer IV soldiered on to the last days of the war.

Our 1/30 scale tank comes with a commander figure wearing the brown leather tankers uniforms issued to the 12th SS and all have detachable metal side skirts. There are 4 versions available as follows:

A version with unit markings '555' for a Panzer IV commanded by 12th SS Sturmbannfuhrer Karl Heinz Prinz Knights Cross recipient, killed in action July 1944 in Normandy. Limited to 60 pieces worldwide.

B Version with unit markings '554' Obersturmfuhrer Friedrich Hartmann Adjutant to Karl Prinz. Limited to 30 pieces worldwide.

C Version with unit markings '553' Untstufuhrer Gunnar Johnsson, Signals officer to Karl Prinz. limited to 30 pieces worldwide.

D Version comes in same colour scheme as the above Panzer IV's but has no decals applied, leaving you free to apply your own if desired. There are decals supplied from all of the above 3 versions in order for you to make up any number of Panzer varieties. Limited to 50 pieces worldwide whilst stocks last.

All our Panzer IV's are priced at $185/£170 which in this day and age represents astonishing value.

GW100B: Walter Ernest Brown was born in Tasmania and worked as a grocer before enlisting in the Australian Army. He served in Egypt before transferring to the Western Front and the 20th Battalion.
In July 1918, during the fighting at Villers -Bretonnueux he single-handedly destroyed a German machine-gun post, taking a number of prisoners in the process. For this act he was awarded the Victoria Cross. He was also later awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for a previous act of bravery.
Following the war, Brown was repatriated to Australia and returned to civilian life, where our story should have happily ended.

However when WW2 began Brown lied about his age and previous experience in order to re-enlist in the Australian Army (being technically too old to serve), this time joining the Artillery. In 1942 Brown's unit was sent to Singapore and on the 15th February 1942 Brown's regiment moved up to the front line to make a final stand. Sources disagree as to what happened to Brown after this. When the order to surrender came, some witnesses alleged him to have calmly picked up some grenades and said: "No surrender for me", before walking towards the enemy lines never to be seen again. Author John Moremon however believes that Brown sought to escape and after gaining permission from his commanding officer, led a group of 2/15th men to Rengat, in Sumatra in a rowing boat. From there it is believed that Brown and the others attempted to link up with other troops that were being evacuated via bus, but they became separated and although some managed to get away to Padang, Brown is believed to have been captured and then executed by the Japanese. Whatever the true end, Brown surely exemplified true Aussie grit in every sense of the word.

Limited to 100 in number and priced at $42.50/£39 per figure.

World War 1 Victoria Cross Recipients Add On

GW100A; George Julian "Snowy" Howell was decorated with the Victoria Cross following his actions during the Second Battle of Nullecourt whilst serving with the 1st Battalion AIF, in which he ran along the parapet of a trench bombing the German forces attacking his position through the use of grenades, and thus driving them back. Howell was awarded his Victoria Cross by his Majesty the King in 1917.
Severely wounded in his Victoria Cross action, Howell underwent a prolonged hospitalisation period before returning to Australia and receiving his discharge on medical grounds. Settling in Coogee he gained employment by working on the advertising staff of several newspapers. Following the outbreak of WW2, Howell served with the Australian Eastern Command Headquarters but found the work monotonous and sought his discharge. He enlisted with the US Navy and took part in the invasion of Leyte Gulf. He died in 1964 at the age of 71.

Limited to 100 in number and priced at $42.50/£39 per figure.

Dear All

Welcome to January 2020 newsletter with a great selection of new products hopefully to tempt you into splashing out and beating those winter blues. We have expanded the figures available for our VC recipient parade sets and hope these are just what the doctor ordered for some of our customers! For those of you planning to collect all the figures produced for this series please note King George V has nearly sold out with only 4 or 5 left here. In fact good old King George outsold General Patton by a fair proportion which somewhat surprised us here. Still no complaints here I can assure you!

You were quick off the mark there Larry !
Have to wait a few weeks until I get my order in for the hut, hopefully they won't sell out in the meantime as I got tempted by the Panzer IV's

Steve

Love the Pz IV and like the no decal alternative.
Since there were no two of these painted exactly the same, I hope to add some variations to the undecaled model. Will probably add some light weathering to both.

Happy Three Kings Day!!!

Like that the hut can be used for WW11 Pacific or Vietnam, both of which I collect. The size will test my space issue, but there is a will there’s a way. The Panzer looks to be the ticket, well done. Robin.

Ya' I jumped on this one as fast as possible. I lost out on the original huts and regreted not jumping sooner.
With all the WWII Pacific collectors and all the Vietnam Collectors I figured that I better not waste any time.

Good Luck!
