Perhaps I should explain my thinking in soliciting responses about a Facebook group...
First, KC has a fairly active FB "collector's club" group with a little over 1500 members. Couldn't we do something similar, albeit somewhat smaller, for Jenkins' collectors?
Second, I've encouraged some folks to participate, here, but some simply don't want to do so. It may sound odd, but the MAJORITY of those same guys are active on Facebook.
Third, and this may sound a tad selfish, but the TF user-interface can be a challenge in terms of graphics. And where TF can be difficult for fellas who want to share image content, FB is a snap. In the time that it takes me to resize and post five pics, here, I can post HUNDREDS of large-format pics to FB. No kidding, the difference in that regard is night and day.
Finally, comments from other collectors have led me to conclude that points two and three, above, are related. By that I mean that there are guys who post content to FB who won't post here, because of the forum interface. Straight up. Been told that more than once.
In closing, I should note that this is my idea. I haven't consulted with John Jenkins about the group. However, I'm fairly certain that he'd have NO interest, whatsoever, in ANYTHING that takes him away from his development work. Should it be, that this is NOT the case, I'd be, well, SHOCKED. Good or bad, the group really would be a collectors' group, totally unsanctioned by JJD.
