Was that Woodland Scenics snow? I fortunately discovered just in time that it is caustic ( I bet there is salt in it or sodium bicarbonate) so I only use it for my photos and brush it off immediately. Does anyone know of a safe snow product?

Yes Randy it was Woodland Scenics.I put a base coat mixed with water then sprinlked the snow on.I got most of it off but the little places like where the shingles meet I couldn't get out even with a toothpick. It had been on for a few months before I tried to take it off.Live and Learn.

I haven't seen or used the Woodland scenic snow, is it really fine? If so how about using baby powder or maybe cornstarch, icing sugar or flour. Probably the food items not so good for a static display but if using just for a quick photo shoot I think they may work.

We've had good luck with JG Miniatures snow. We use it in our showroom dioramas without any problems.

"This high-density, low-dust material gives the look of newly fallen snow to dioramas of all scales. Manufactured by Deluxe Materials specifically for JG Miniatures it is ideal for use with collectable figures and accessories and can be removed with a soft brush or shaken off without harming paint finishes.
Sprinkle over figures, bases, vehicles, buildings and trees to give a realistic deep snow effect. Completely reusable--just shake or brush off and return it to the bottle or transfer to your latest project.
Ideal for covering joint line between winter bases.
One 60-gram bottle will cover a 12" x 12" square area to a depth of approximately 1/8th of an inch. "

Thanks for the tip Pete.
Randy

Thanks Pete,
I think the main thing I did wrong was put the base coat on.I think if I just sprinkled the snow on I would have been alright.
