Happy with both styles, the Ticonderoga figures are less bulky than the earlier releases, but are definitely growing on me.

John must be going a tad crazy, the new Quebec French Marching Figures are very good matches for the earlier sets as it regards the figure's bulk. And the same time, the new Ticonderoga are purposely a tad less bulky. John has to keep both styles current -- that would give me a massive headache!!!

Ken,
you are right, I noted the same thing. The new TIC Highlanders go better with the Britain sentry guards than their earlier comrades. Really I always thought about these soldiers as robust and hardy men. By my side I prefer the bulk appearance. I don’t know the reason of this shifting, I find the bulky one more distinctive of the John’s production and closer to my taste. I can’t imagine my Highlanders at Culloden in thin conditions!

IMHO faces have improved a lot. Thanks for posting these photos.
